An Apple a Day and All That

Oh, I know, so unoriginal, right?
But, I love it.

We escaped our boxes this weekend and
headed to the orchard for some fall fun, New England style.

Look how big they are!
It’s especially apparent when you recall
our apple picking trips in 2009 and 2010.

This year, we went to Honey Pot Hill Orchards, and
guess what? They had animals. Oink, oink.
A nice diversion for the little ones.

The kids took taste testing to new heights.

A lovely pond at the orchard, which, no surprising,
if you look closely, was filled with apples.

R enjoyed selecting just the right apples…

…while, G, a girl after my own heart,
loved the apple cider donuts.

R, and his dear friend, A, led the way through the trees.

It was the perfect day to be a kid.

Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces,
I would still plant my apple tree.
