Weekend Reading, 3.14.14 (St. Patrick’s Day Edition)

St_Patricks_Day

“Mommy, are we Irish?” My son skipped into the kitchen with this question on his lips.

“Yes,” I replied. “A bit.”

“How much?”

“Well, I’m 25 percent Irish, so that makes you 12.5 percent Irish,” I explained.

He laughed, having no idea how percentages worked. And then he asked if we could make green food and decorate the house with green items.

So, in honor of my son’s questions and my ancestors back in Ireland, today’s Weekend Reading is all about St. Patrick’s Day… enjoy…

1 | A great recipe for Irish Soda Bread

2 | Where did “St. Patty’s” come from?

3 | Easy St. Patrick’s Day crafts to make this weekend

4 | Peppermint ice cream… it’s green after all!

5 | Did you ever have a pinch protector as a kid?

6 | St. Patrick’s Day decoration and party ideas

7 | Family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day events for those in the Boston area

8 | Because they are beautiful (and green!)… the aurora borealis

9 | A Guinness float shake? Perfect.

May joy and peace surround you,

And happiness be with you now
And bless you evermore.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
